SOS - Profile T2 Plus Arm Rest

Post by Dan B on Fri Mar 05, 2010 1:48 am

    Hi Guys

Out on my ride the other day and have developed a crack on the arm rest on my T2 Plus Aerobars. Spoke to wiggle but they won't have a replacement before Port Mac Ironman. Was wondering if anyone has a spare right hand side arm rest that I could borrow for 3-4 weeks. I would be enternally grateful Smile

Mate, mine are on a ship otherwise I would courier them to you. A bit left field but try calling the bike shops in Port and seeing if they have any and pay over the phone then pick up when you get there. Clarence Street Cycles is very well stocked and they get in extras for the Ironman. They hooked me up a few years ago with a strange sized arm rest pad that I lost off the roof of the car on the way down. There is anoher shop that has some good stuff just near what is the run exit towards abduction point in that little strip of shops across from Settlement City.

I'm racing on Sunday. Then I don't have another race until May - so I could send you mine on Monday if you need.

Hey Dan - is it just the arm rest and/or the bracket you need?

Have had the same problem with those things, and have actually broken two of them Mad
I looked into replacing them with the F11 (I think it is?) carbon numbers from the next model up, but they don't fit of course.
Ended up buying a new bike Smile

But just wanted to say you're not alone in having issues with these armrests

I posted the arm rest off to Dan the other day.
I was just going to take my bars off, since my next event is Mooloolaba and I'm just doing the swim in a team there.

BUT, coming from a long line of blokes who like to see if we can bodge something up, I have made myself a temporary arm rest.
Bought a galvanised post end from Bunnings that had a concave top, just right for the forearm.
    Squashed the sides underneath it.
Gaffa tape round the whole lot to make it not so scratchy.
Drill the holes and it's fitted to my bike now.
Not even close to the same shape as the real one, so the pad is a bit out of whack, but it should get me through Smile
