Great work Andrew - and I agree Fezza definitely needs a current world champion title

Went for a spin with a couple of the fellas this morning and they told me my route was uphill. We rode it the other way this morning and it sure a shart was. LOL. Half tempted to have another crack in the opposite direction.

    Swim - 3:08
    Bike - 2:46
    Run - 2:20 (*2nd attempt)

    MicroMan time - 8:14

Despite the pain I experienced doing these, I found them to be pretty good fun as they are a bit ‘out of the norm’.

It would be interesting to see how fast you could get over all three legs with some specific training.

For me, I’m guessing it would take quite a while (I’m thinking 6months +) to cut 5+ secs off my swim and just as long to cut 10+ secs off the bike. My quickest way of improving would probably be on the run – with some short sharp sprint sessions I’m guessing I could knock 10 sec off the 800m in a few 3 months.

I see a future in this event, held over a few hours. It’d be great for small clubs to have a hit out.

Swim - 8 people at a time, lane each, so it wouldn’t take too long to get through everyone.

Bike - ITT format, riders off in reverse order of the current standings

Run - Heats of 8 runners seeded together also in reverse order.

    Followed by BBQ, beers etc.

Thanks for the challenge Alex, I tried but you’re still the current **MicroMan World Record Holder**

Given my swimming, I’m going into serious training for next winter’s **MicroDuathlonMan**

i want AR's time around nundah..

actually when they do sailing speed WR's. to claim it you have to return in the opposite direction within 30 mins or something.

    average the two results

Matt are you going to have a crack at the micro man title? You'd have to be a sub-8 guy.

You won't need to be motivated to spew - if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen...

It would be even quicker. I did Corso in the 'uphill' (note uphill is f all but is the last 300m) direction. Power files don't lie. Check my average power and Cam's, I was a whole 120 watts higher average and only a few seconds quicker. Nundah at this time of the year gets the sea breeze so you are sheltered up the back straight and a tail wind on the main straight. Good surface, no pot holes. Easy to spin out 70km/hr along there and hold 40+ up the back. I think a Velodrome is the only real way to do it and CQ have put a stop to casual use at Chandler.

What's the route you did Alex? http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3352555 is 2km's (switch to satellite view). 3x2:30ish (7:30-8:00) would be achievable for most top AG guys I would think.

    i agree with all this

just think corso is a gay place to do it due to cars potholes up hill down hill etc

your power output is shit hot

    i love you

Good stuff Andrew - I like the average time thing too. I had another crack at the run so my new time is 2:20.

    Oh and Happy Birthday!!!

    hey that is wicked AZ.

@Micky, I am thinking I might take this global ala the Beer Mile (the official one). I will have to firm up the rules a tad but think it may get some interest. I like your idea for a club event as well.
