Well, 4 of those points were last week. Smile
I missed a run and a ride last week because I struggled on my (shortened) long run, so took the next day off.
9 out of 12.5 hours last week.

Hey, not bad. I only hit 9/14 hours in week 1 of IM training and 12/15 hours in week 2. Almost all of it was missed swimming. Not surprisingly it is my weakest leg. But I've started to turn that around with a solid hour in the pool this morning Very Happy

(but no, no extra for bricks. extra for races, yes)

Woohoo, thanks Plaz. Now just overtaken him by a point (he *now* says he's no longer competing against me)!!! 28 in total so far for me.

56.4 kms so far and 11 points. Due to get a run in tonight which will get another point if I get out in the 43 degree heat. Should make 15 / 16 by the end of the session, happy with that as was pushing myself too hard with the running before and getting injured.

3 more points yesterday for 26.

    A technical question.

I'm doing an Enticer tri at Robina this sunday that will have a 10min run, no points for the run but do I get the bonus point?

    Cheers

More and more triathlons on the schedule Mick. This is good. Can we change your title from "runner" to "Triathlete" now.

    240 kms since challenge began.

No Mick. You should be doing the Sprint! In fact, you should lose points for being soft Razz

    See you there

That was the intent of the bonus for a race. I was thinking specifically of 4 and 5km runs that you will very likely run under 20 mins. Therefore, a sub 20 min race run = 1 point.

Here is an interesting one. When I was running well year before last, I was in Asics Gel 3000s. They were impossible to get in my size so I went to 2130s. I always felt heavy running in them even up until this week. The 3010 is the new 3000 and they are also impossible to get online and don't hit shops in OZ until late Jan and that is even if they stock them. Athletes Foot in UAE have them so I got a pair and today was the second run and I felt like I usd to. My foot strike and knee lift just happen all by themselves and my cadence is a good 10 steps higher. Could be placebo but it is not somthing I thought about while running at the time.

    you need.
    1x wifey
    1x double blind test
am even thinking put one of each shoes on and see if you run in circles.

serious though.. a techno nerd as your self will easially be able to detect a 10-30% improvement in performance
cadence is up by 10 is pretty massvie.

i expect you will report back in a week with an answer.

What size shoe do you have? I have an awful time trying to find shoes that fit and have just stuck to a Kayano cause I know I can get them.

Catching up on my pointscore for the last few weeks...

    W/C 21-Dec - 13 pts
    W/C 28-Dec - 16 pts
    W/C 4-Jan - 26 pts

    Note - I've assumed a scale of 1 pt for every 30mins, plus 1 for a race.

I'm done! Woohoo. That's 30 points for me. Marathon training started on Monday so I will be sticking to the schedule now. Thanks again Plaz for the motivation to get back into things. I feel stronger than I did a month ago. I'll continue to tally points and check in on the last day.

3 more points to take me to 29,

i'm not doing Robina tomorrow, want to give my achilles another 3 weeks rest before Caloundra, i'm a chance at taking the Catagory overall in the enticer series so i'll stick with them at the moment. I just need a win at Caloundra and Raby Bay to rap it up and if thats the case i'll step up on the GC.

Good luck tomorrow everyone, i'll go and do an easy 90min trail run instead. So i guess that means im still a runner Dan, but i'm slowly changing.

    Cheers

    Mick
