Hi all,
I’m mid-way through Joe Friel’s book and, while I feel like I’m wrapping my head around the whole concept of using heart rates to work out the zones etc, it does feel pretty complicated for what I’m hoping to get out of the sport.*
I’ve heard that some people train using critical speed as a way of setting up your training speeds. Example here
Do any of you gurus have any experience/opinions using this second method? If so, would it be something that might be of benefit to the more ‘recreational’ athlete who tends to training in a fairly ad-hoc way?
Cheers,
Mick
*get a bit fitter, do some sprints and an Olympic, have fun and maybe even get a bit faster.
