I am under no illusions that I am a runner. NONE!
But having done quite a few hours of zone 1 running (6:15-7:15 min ks, zzzzzzzzzz)over the last 6-7 weeks with a focus on cadence and form, this afternoon 1500m from home I impulsively dropped the hammer for a k at 4:20 pace. Now I know this is not a blistering pace and it took me anaerobic, but it felt bloody good and with no loss of form it felt surprisingly easy, and recovery back to zone 1 took less than a minute.
Just one of them moments when you feel like you are on track. Wax on, wax off.
