I'm not as quick at getting out of them as some, so I only would go in one from around 750 or higher. Have had this discussion with others though who claim to be able to get out of theirs in 20 seconds and think any distance tri they're worth it

mmm if the water temp was cool, I would. Not being a super swimmer I go by the idea of completing the swim comfortably so I can go hard on the bike and run. If I can make the swim easy, I go for it.. why waste effort if you do not have to...

For any swim leg exceeding 3min the competitive advantage exceeds any drawback.
However, you do need to know how to get it off quickly...

nearly everyone wears one in a 300m down here
